About

Hello! I'm Tay, the creative behind 'Longing For Land' with too many different art related hobbies and a passion for country people.

I entered the rural landscape about 9 years ago, being from the coast of Perth originally, and fell in love with the work & the company. I was determined to create a life amongst the golden afternoons & easy chat and reflect the way I see these communities into art.

My photography, original art and the Rural Rug is a result of that and I'm still learning more ways. Come along :)

More about Tay

When I'm not painting or capturing images, I'm hunting FB marketplace for vintage bargains I can upcycle or going to the local tip shop to find goodies for my garden at the Cottage.

We live in a 170 year old cottage and I love filling it with worn furniture, mismatched ceramics, old framed treasures and plants. Lots of plants. I'm a little obsessed with heritage architecture and photograph local real estate which inspires my home decor and cottage garden.

My fiance, Oscar, is a rural fencing contractor and country musician so we travel around regional WA a lot. Looking at the different country and what people do with the land they care for inspires a lot of my work.

I can't forget to mention the snags. It started with one, Willie, then he needed a friend, so we got Rein, then she had a puppy who we couldn't part with, so now we have Tawny... The sausages make life that bit extra fun and whimsy. We also have chickens and ducks, I'm still working on Oscars hatred for horses. ;)
